Baby Boomers, Birthing, and Redheads

Once upon a time, Greg and Nancy Grimes decided it would be fun to have children. They ended up with three, one boy and two girls. Greg was a manly man and wanted to be with Nancy in the delivery room. Little did he know how unprepared he was to witness a live birth.

When Richard popped out, Greg nearly fainted and had to lay down on the floor. Later he would say that it was like buying an expensive car he couldn't afford. By the time their second child was due, Greg was ready. He sat beside Nancy and told jokes throughout the entire delivery! At the birth of their third child he was practically an expert.

Nancy often said that the personalities of her two daughters were evident at the time of their birth. Diana, their second child, would leisurely take two hours to nurse, preoccupying herself by looking at her grandparents intermittently between drinks. Jenny, the baby of the Grimes family, was proficient and didn't waste a second lollygagging around. She drank down her milk, both sides, in nine minutes flat.

Richard and Jenny had a definite genetic advantage over Diana since they were both redheads. In church, everyone would comment on and dote upon them because of their red hair, while the poor dirty blonde middle child was left to sulk in a corner.

Just kidding, gingers rock!

So when making babies remember: genetics aren't everything, having a good partner counts for a lot, jokes are always funny, and nursing is a type of personality test.
